2019.08.01JAPAN RAIL CAFE brings you the Outdoors at the Urban Park this August!

Summer, snacks, and songs – JAPAN RAIL CAFE’s hottest extravaganza unfolds in the Urban Park!

Event Synopsis

Event Name: Natsu Camp Fest

Period: 15-18 August 2019 (Thu-Sun), 11am to 9:30pm

Venue: Guoco Tower, L1 Urban Park

SINGAPORE – Summertime in Japan is the harbinger of “Natsu (Summer) Camps” and music festivals, where families, friends, and colleagues head to the great outdoors for cosy picnics, bustling festival activities, and tantalizing street food for a respite from their city lives. This August, JAPAN RAIL CAFE ─ a travel-themed cafe under railway operator East Japan Railway Company ─ will hold their second summer-themed event “Natsu Camp Fest” at Guoco Tower’s Urban Park, following the success of Tokyo Summer Park which had attracted over 10,000 participants in July 2018.

Natsu Camp Fest is an open invitation for the local community to step out into the sun, take a breather, and enjoy summer as the Japanese people do. Visitors can look forward to various activities that are reminiscent of Summer Festivals such as sipping on Nihonshu (Japanese Liquor), enjoying Japanese street food, and appreciating the live performances presented by local and Japanese bands. Travellers who are visiting Japan soon may stop by the tourism booths run by the Japan Railways Group, HAKUBA VALLEY, Shikoku Transport and Tourism Bureau, and JTB to get up-to-date travel tips on exploring the best of Japan this summer.

Programme Highlights

1. Summer Spotlight: Niigata and Shikoku!

At the Niigata Nihonshu Seminar, visitors will have the chance to learn more about Niigata’s famed Nihonshu and witness a traditional Kagami Biraki (Sake Cask opening) ceremony. Hakuba Valley, one of the most popular ski resorts in Japan, will introduce their facilities and share skiing tips in Nagano Prefecture.
